Notes of a Junior on the Path to Oracle Mastery
On this blog I am writing about solutions, thoughts, failures and pitfalls on the path to Oracle Mastery. It’s still a long way to go. On this blog, the main focus is learning Oracle.

Who am I?
My name is HP Fuchs, I live in Lucerne, Switzerland. I am an Oracle DBA at Abraxas Informatik AG, a Zurich based company providing IT services and solutions to public administration and government. Besides my job I’m studying Business Informatics by distance learning.

Oracle Certification
I found the Oracle Certification Program a good way of learning. Certification encourages learning. Focusing on a goal helps focusing on a topic. Currently I hold Oracle Database 10g Certified Professional DBA and Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate certification.

And besides Oracle and Studies?
Oracle and my studies are just a means to make a living. Although a very fascinating job it’s still not my number one priority in life. My family comes first. My wife and our two children. If a family man loves his job more than his family he is either lying or something is wrong with him.

I like cooking. And I am good at it as you can see from these pictures. But still I enjoy eating more than cooking.

In a small talk situation with me food and cooking is always a better choice than sports.
